Our mission
Japan is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world, and official information can be hard to follow if your Japanese is limited. Japan Ready Life turns disaster information into practical action: what to prepare before, what to do during, and what to do after — in clear English, with free tools you can use today.
What we do
- Plain-language emergency guides for earthquakes, typhoons, floods, and outages.
- Free, private tools: water and food calculators, an emergency kit checklist, a family plan generator, and an emergency contact card.
- Direct links to official Japanese government and organization sources.
How we work
We summarize information from official and reputable sources and link back to them so you can verify the details yourself. We prioritize primary Japanese government sources (such as the Cabinet Office and the Japan Meteorological Agency), followed by public and international organizations. We record a "last reviewed" date on safety-critical pages and re-check them regularly.
Japan Ready Life is not a government agency. During an emergency, always follow the latest instructions from Japanese national and local authorities.
